Morrish’s Dirty Bird October Caddis Size 10
Ken Morrish, an Oregon fly fishing guide, came up with this spin on the famous Cal Bird’s fly the Bird’s Nest. I like this fly for steelhead. These flies are tied to my specifications. I swing this fly on a long 12-foot 3X Fluorocarbon tapered leader, or I will fish it underneath an indicator. Either way this fly catches fish.
This fly is one of my favorite flies to fish deep underneath an indicator in the Fall on the Rogue and McCloud Rivers. I like to swing this fly at the end of the dead drift. Fish attack it when it takes off on the swing!
