Lassen Meadows Ranch
Chester, CA
Lassen Meadow Ranch is the perfect place to relax, unwind and catch fish.
The combination of the private lake, cabins, and scenery is one of a kind. When Kirsten first saw the property, she had only one word to say—beautiful.
The 160-acre ranch was a land grant from President Hayes in 1880. It was used for logging, cattle ranching, and a commercial fish hatchery. The water is clean, cold, and pure. The ranch is simply perfect.
The lake is fly-fishing only, catch-and-release, and holds Rainbow Trout. It is a rich volcanic lake, much like Manzanita, with tons of trout food. The fish are healthy, fat, and willing to eat.
The ranch offers private lodging. There is no huge non-private lodge here, only private cabins. The Lake Cabin is a large one-bedroom, one-bathroom cabin with a full kitchen and living room. The ranch offers many activities. Fishing is just one of them. There is birdwatching, hiking, and an on-site trap range for the wing shooter enthusiast.
