Two-Handed Rod Workshop

Northern California Waters - Feather River, CA

Two-Handed Rods Workshop

The “Introduction to Two-handed Rods” workshop is for fly fishers who want to swing flies for aggressive steelhead, trout, shad, salmon, etc.

Our workshop is designed to be inclusive, with all necessary equipment provided. The comprehensive instruction will cover setups, lines, flies, drifts, and swinging techniques in detail. This thorough preparation will make you feel confident and ready to tackle any fishing situation. Casting will be a significant part of this class; students will learn the Snap-Tee, Single C, and Double Spey techniques.

We encourage students to bring their gear. We can often tune your rod with a complete set of our RIO lines and improve your cast. Skagits, Scandis, MOWs, and Versileaders will all be discussed. We will have Sage Switch and Short Spey rods with Redington Trout Spey rods for the students to learn.

We frequently use Lance Gray & Company guide services for fishing club outings and presentations. We also call on Lance for disabled veteran group outings. I’ve been in his boat fishing, too. WOWZA! Lance is a perfect blend of expertise, coaching and mentoring, fishing success, and wonderful humor. Time with Lance is well worth it!
