Meyer’s Jigged Radiant Micro Leech Pond Smelt Size 10
Landen Meyer created this micro leech some time ago. It has bounced around from region to region with great success. It’s only now getting tuned in here – and it has been proven that it is a reliable fish-catching pattern. With the color combinations and the built-in movement of the squirrel or mink, this fly comes alive in the water. I have been fishing this pattern on the Lower Sac with great success, and this last Fall on Lake Almanor, I fished it underneath a Deepwater Indicator. The big browns loved it.
Meyer’s Jigged Radiant Micro Leech in White is one of my favorite flies during the Pond Smelt gathering at Lake Almanor in the Fall months. It’s a great imitation of the pond smelt. I fish it underneath an indicator from a couple of feet to about 15 feet deep. This one needs to be in any Lake Almanor fly box!!
